Aside from their love of basketball, Lucas and Nathan Scott have nothing in common, except for the secret that they both have the same father: Dan Scott. Nathan is arrogant, overconfident and the star of the high school basketball team. He comes from one of the wealthiest families in town. Lucas, however, comes from a lower class and is a quiet boy. He lives alone with his mother and that doesn't always make life easy. So far, Dan Scott has managed to keep his sons separated, but that all changes when Lucas is selected by Whitey Durham, the basketball team coach. Their battle only intensifies when Nathan learns that Lucas has his sights on Peyton Sawyer, Nathan's girlfriend.
