Chicago P.D. plot

District 21 of the Chicago Police Department is made up of 2 different groups: the uniformed cops who patrol the streets to fight everyday crime and the intelligence unit, the team that handles serious crime in the city. The intelligence unit's leader is Sergeant Hank Voight, a man who doesn't exactly follow the law to get justice. Demanding and tough, only those who can handle it survive under Voight's leadership.

Seizoen 8 zit er op! Het was anders dan voorgaande seizoenen wegens Covid en omdat het politieke klimaat veranderd is. Het seizoen begon moeizaam met het vertrek door de achterdeur van Rojas en de nasleep van het vervelende Wokegedoe rondom Kevin Atwater, een character die zijn beste tijd wel gehad heeft in mijn optiek. Toen dat opgelost was keerde het echte Chicago PD gevoel toch al snel terug. Het seizoen eindigde weer met een fikse cliffhanger die ons tot oktober in spanning moet houde. Overleefd Kim dit en zo ja keert ze terug als lid van het team? Hopelijk komt er volgend seizoen weer een nieuw ouder lid bij de intelligence unit om de balans terug te brengen in het team sinds het vertrek van Antonio in seizoen 6 en de dood van Olinsky in seizoen 5. Met Burgess, Ruzek, Atwater, Halstead en Upton is het nu iets te veel Melrose Place naar mijn smaak.

Season 8 is over! It was different from previous seasons because of Covid and because the political climate has changed. The season got off to a slow start with Rojas leaving through the back door and the aftermath of the annoying Woke thing surrounding Kevin Atwater, a character who has seen better days in my opinion. When that was resolved the real Chicago PD feeling soon returned. The season ended with a hefty cliffhanger that should keep us in suspense until October. Will Kim survive this and if so will she return as a member of the team? Hopefully next season a new senior member will join the intelligence unit to bring balance back to the team since the departure by Antonio in season 6 and the death of Olinsky in season 5. With Burgess, Ruzek, Atwater, Halstead and Upton, it's a little too much Melrose Place for my taste now.
