Chicago P.D. plot

District 21 of the Chicago Police Department is made up of 2 different groups: the uniformed cops who patrol the streets to fight everyday crime and the intelligence unit, the team that handles serious crime in the city. The intelligence unit's leader is Sergeant Hank Voight, a man who doesn't exactly follow the law to get justice. Demanding and tough, only those who can handle it survive under Voight's leadership.

Blijf maar hopen op een andere hoofdrolspeler. Deze figuur die denkt zelf rechercheur, rechter en beul te kunnen spelen en ook nog een grote mond opzet wanneer iemand daar vraagtekens bij zet.... Uiterààrd heeft hij ALTIJD de bad guys te pakken en maakt nooit een fout, waardoor je als kijker al snel een tevreden 'net goed' gevoel krijgt wanneer er weer eens een slechterik wordt afgerost. Maar het zijn natuurlijk praktijken die we kennen uit landen waar het woord democratie net zo onbekend is als het begrip trias politica. Ook de onlogica van de verhalen begint met stilaan meer te irriteren. Natuurlijk ga je door het lint wanneer je kind vermoord wordt, maar daarom juist mag je je daar als rechercheur NOOIT mee bemoeien. Maar de hele ploeg sjokt weer braaf achter Hank aan die als een dolle stier door Chicago raast. Wat mis ik 'The Wire', ook goede en foute agenten, maar zo veel beter en geloofwaardiger in beeld gebracht. Tijd voor een nieuwe goede politieserie!

This figure who thinks he can play detective, judge and executioner himself and also makes a big mouth when someone questions that....

Of course he ALWAYS gets the bad guys and never makes a mistake, so that you as a viewer quickly get a satisfied 'just right' feeling when a bad guy is once again being beaten.

But of course these are practices that we know from countries where the word democracy is just as unknown as the concept of trias politica.

The illogic of the stories also starts to irritate more and more. Of course you go crazy when your child is murdered, but that is precisely why you should NEVER interfere with that as a detective. But the whole crew again trudges after Hank, who races through Chicago like a mad bull.

How I miss 'The Wire', also good and bad cops, but portrayed so much better and more credibly.

Time for a new good police series!
