La Piovra plot

Police inspector Corrado Cattani and his family are transferred to the island of Sicily, which has long been a hotbed of mafia practices. When Cattani uncovers a major drug smuggling operation, he is threatened from all sides by the mafia organization Octopus, which seems to control everyone on the island. Cattani doesn't know who to trust, yet he continues his fight against the underworld.

An excellent season and perhaps the pinnacle of the series. Lots of tension and action, but it is especially the memorable characters such as IL puporo, Espinosa and of course Tano, who raise the level to the top.
