Oz season 1

The most groundbreaking series ever in TV history. Never before has so much explicit content been shown in a primetime TV series as in this series, opening doors for series such as Game of Thrones and Spartacus. Oz is about daily life in a Maximum security prison, a zoo with people in fact, from both the residents and the employees. A lot of bad things happen like intrigue, violence and rape of prisoners among themselves but by the staff. At the same time, you also see that those same hardened individuals have moments of doubt and sometimes even remorse. Oz is full of special characters who, despite their criminal and often violent background, can also be sympathetic. Or in case the staff seem sympathetic but can be surprisingly unsympathetic at times. This is what makes Oz so captivating. Even if you have already seen it, it remains interesting because you can then look at events in the background. That's like a Where is Waldo thing, you always discover something new. One thing is certain, whoever has seen Oz never wants to go to jail.
