The Boys plot

In a universe where superheroes are known to the public, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his group of vigilantes, known as 'The Boys', attempt to shed light on the 'Supes' true intentions, working for the mysterious Vought corporation. The heroes, known as 'The Seven', are led by the psychopathic Homelander (Antony Starr).

Unfortunately, The Boys is starting to go downhill. This is by far the worst season so far, with unnecessarily stretched (and uninteresting) storylines and annoying new characters. In addition, certain explicit scenes were clearly only added for shock value; they add nothing in terms of content. The best episode is the one in which Homelander confronts his past. The finale is also passable, but hopefully the series will be concluded soon.

Eric Kripke had already warned us about it and he didn't lie: the fourth season of The Boys is more woke than ever. This time, every character is a sexual deviant. Explicit gay sex scenes are alternated with nonsense, dirty talk and the occasional bit of action. In between, the pretentious Sister Sage treats the viewer to an unbearable intersectional sermon. It's actually unbearable. The diabolical The Seven are more than ever a symbol of MAGA America, so the unsuspecting viewer immediately gets some voting advice. The humor that made the first seasons digestible has almost disappeared here. If there is any laughter in season 4, it's like a farmer with a toothache. The Boys has degenerated into a tiresome and perverse soap opera: no thank you.
