Took me a few evenings but I was (very) happy to pay for it. The beginning of developing the serial killer's profile. How many book novels have been written about this intriguing and yet hesitant subject? On the one hand, the (in this first series) killers are of course repulsive, but also 'fascinating'. Because doesn't everyone have a dark edge or certain thoughts that don't make sense? Sometimes I even had a dark 'recognition' with myself. But - fortunately - I knew, I felt, that I could never go or want to go that far. (I had a very sweet mother and father 
).
I also noticed that I was making 'connections' between this series and the horrible Dutch story of Anne Faber and the monster Michael P. Because how did Michael P. become such a horrible personality? And somewhere I come to the conclusion that in the human world this negative spiral will never, ever be broken. People can abuse, it is in our upbringing, power and psyche. A pity, because in the end everyone - in such a situation - is a victim.
The fact that this series evokes these questions, conclusions and interpretations in me says something about the high level of content (in terms of acting, actors, music, the phenomenally sharp time setting and props it is also of high class) and depth of a subject that shows how thin the layer of protection of humanity is...
And somehow that is also secretly so intriguing that I keep watching..

Great Netflix series, about the early days of behavioral analysis by the FBI, in order to catch serial killers and rapists. Four of the ten excellent episodes are directed by David Fincher, but the other directors involved are not inferior to this. First-class acting, wonderful dialogues and subtly built tension, finished in style by the beautifully sketched image of the time. Only downside: now another year to wait for season two. grrrrr...
