Season 1 was a good start, but I liked the two sequels better. Season 3 was already pushing the limits of credibility, but was still very entertaining in all its ambitions. Season 4 is a step backwards in my opinion.
The whole season consists of looking for a way to ensure that everyone survives Praimfaya. In addition, the characters keep coming into contact with new problems that are all solved within a few episodes, after which a new problem arises. Because this occurs frequently in this season, and has also occurred more often during the previous seasons, the series starts to feel like a repetition of moves. The tension also fades bit by bit when it turns out that certain characters need to be kept alive (Octavia) and others start to look like half superheroes (Raven[/spoiler ]). I wonder if any viewer in the penultimate episode actually doubted Raven would be able to get the group up in the air. Of course, this is partly fantasy, but that does not alter the fact that the amount of illogical choices still ensures that it sometimes becomes quite unbelievable. The season finale does live up to the high expectations and Jasper, who I still don't know whether I thought it was a nice or annoying character, gets a nice goodbye.
Entertaining enough to sit out, but I can't say I was breathless watching either. In any case, the series would do well not to squeeze out twenty episodes per season and I honestly think that they should come up with something new in terms of design. Wondering how season 5 will turn out...
