Mediocre film with typical Spike Lee influences (discrimination). The beginning was very good and the end was also just good, further the breasts of Valentina Cervi were also good and then you've had it with the good in this film. The film just takes way too long and the middle part (already mentioned here) is just boring (although there are sometimes shocking images) and uninteresting.

War drama that impresses especially in the last hour.

I had never seen the war intimidation of the Germans who used the white-black contrasts in the States to weaken the enemy's efforts in any film and in fact those contrasts are contained in the entire film.

Shocking images of the massacre of innocent civilians.

A bit complex : religion, superstition, romance, struggles between soldiers, partisans, civilians..., several different ideas and a more than normal length.

A war film that immediately starts with a mystery. Why does the clerk who sells stamps kill a customer? What is the significance of the head found in his home and why would an ex-soldier who received a Purple Heart do such a terrible thing? Soon we don't find out, but after this murder in broad daylight in a public place, we quickly dive into Italy during the war in 1943.

The advantage of this film is clearly the authentic atmosphere that Italy, as usual, evokes in me. Another plus is that the Germans speak German, the Italians speak Italian and the African Americans speak English. The soundtrack is also strong.

The middle part is sometimes a bit long-winded, but the film never really gets boring. That was also due to the Italian atmosphere. Certainly a fascinating war drama with some action here and there and Valentina Cervi will also make many men's hearts beat faster. Definitely recommended and difficult to compare with many other war films.
