Unforgettable plot
"He loved her. He lost her. He won't let her memory die... until it tells him who killed her."
dr. David Krane has been charged with the murder of his wife. But due to an error in the procedure, he is released. Because he has a past as an alcoholic, he is not sure whether he committed the murder. Then he meets scientist Martha Briggs who is developing a serum that can awaken someone else's memory.

A film title that betrays a lack of self-awareness, I quickly forgot about this one. Ray Liotta gives a decent performance, but his character is too flat. The sci-fi story is weak and far-fetched, unfortunately, not in a good way. Linda Fiorentino was fantastic in The Last Seduction, but here her role was merely subdued. On top of that, the film drags out the plot far too long. At an hour and a half, it might have been interesting. A slight oversight by Dahl, whom I hold in high regard, especially because of his first three films.

A mediocre film in which a doctor accused of murdering his wife tries to unmask the real killer through the memories of others. A far-fetched, yet perfectly good premise, though poorly executed. The plot itself, with the search for the killer, is rather standard and fails to truly captivate. It's definitely one of John Dahl's weakest films.

The actions of Liotta's character are very reckless but slowly a story unfolds that is reasonably well thought out in my opinion, if a bit complicated, you have to pay close attention. It doesn't have the efficiency and tension of other John Dahl films but is still well made. Kim Catrall has a small role and we briefly see Cancer Man from the X-Files with that coma patient. Peter Coyote, with his distinctive voice, is always good, Fiorentino ditto but in a less sexy role, no femme fatale this time.
