A thriller that really never gets exciting, how do you manage it? That guy isn't scary, that crazy bitch isn't scary. The director did take a good look at Basic Instinct. Well, well… it doesn't even remotely look like it. In terms of tension then, or eroticism. A lot of blue. Threatening music. Big house. Inspirational Virginia Andrews-like story with no crack or taste to it. A 3-year-old could have come up with this. Even better. The police car that comes chug at the end: 'Hey guys, you need some help?' Yes, now the story is over. Typical police, always late.

No, I can spend my time elsewhere.

Lots of show, zero content.

Not exactly genius, no. Acting is mediocre, the plot is far-fetched and the ending is completely pointless, as bad as it derails. There is some tension during the film, so that I end up just above the minimum, but this film is not much. 1*.

The Glass House has a nice concept and it actually starts quite nicely. Leelee Sobieski may not be the world's best actress, but I didn't think she was bad at all. She is well cast in this role. The problem is more in the threat of the stepparents. In the beginning it's a bit there, because you don't know which way it will go yet, but it soon turns out to be a bit too much and halfway through the film drowns in clichés and unbelievable things. The entertainment value is generally still there: as a viewer you remain curious about what the next move will be. Unfortunately, the end result is a bit too disappointing to leave a lasting impression.

2.5*
