The Bedroom Window plot

"A violent crime. A secret affair. A single witness."

Terry has an affair with Sylvia, his boss's wife. Then one night from Terry's bedroom window, Sylvia sees a young woman named Denise being assaulted. Because she doesn't want the affair with Terry to come to light, she doesn't want to talk to the police, but tells Terry everything in detail. Terry is eager to help and pretends to have witnessed this event himself. Because it soon turns out that his story is not quite right, Terry becomes the suspect. But Terry investigates himself, and with the help of the victim Denise, he finds out who the real culprit is.

Nice film in which a man has an affair with his boss's wife. Clearly a Hitchcock-esque thriller, which, however, lacks the usual tension. It may not all be believable, but the plot has enough entertaining developments that it is easy to watch. An ample 3.0 stars.

The film is mainly weak due to quite a few implausibilities and also because of the mediocre acting

including from Guttenberg. Huppert also seemed at a loss in this film that varied her acting

with good and then mediocre autopilot acting. The courtroom scene was one

stupid joke. Still, I didn't think the film as a whole was bad, especially visually

resembled a B movie. Of a reasonable level.

Nice thriller with some winks that, despite the implausibilities, manages to be sufficiently interesting due to a solid cast, the structure of the story and the increasingly dire situation in which the protagonist finds himself as the story continues to develop. The villain is excellently cast given his creepy appearance. Two downsides are that Terry is identified as the guilty party at a certain point, which is actually not possible at all, given that the victim Denise survived and is certain that Terry did not do it. Another downside is the moment in court when Sylvia wants to give the answer to Terry in silence during the test to prove that Terry is nearsighted. But hey, the film is easy to watch and offers more than a passing grade. 7/10
