The cast and story look very good on paper, but in practice it is rather disappointing. Both Graham and Fiennes are in my opinion more suitable for comedic roles and because of that a lot of things came across as rather forced. Fiennes is regularly guilty of overacting and Graham is touching and fun to watch but not convincing.

One of my favorite actresses, Natascha McElhone, is certainly not unkind, but is given far too little space to make something good out of this.

Furthermore, the scenario was very predictable and the tension was nowhere to be found. Roughly the first half hour was quite pleasant but after that the film drops to a questionable level.

Mediocre.

I had this lying around and now I'll give it a try. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it wasn't a bad movie. The cast did a great job and was convincing.

The story was mysterious enough to keep me interested until the very end.

Well, great viewing, I have no complaints.

“Sometimes I feel like I don't know you.”

Mediocre. Killing Me Softly wants to radiate sex and sensuality, but the result is a somewhat dull romance between Fiennes and Graham. Especially Fiennes is moderately busy. Graham is nice, but doesn't get enough space to make anything of her character. In the second part it becomes more of a thriller, and the tension is increased. Without success, because the characters are mostly annoying and you never have the idea that Graham is in danger for even one moment. You can see the twist at the end coming from afar. Fortunately, it is all still fairly believable, and this colorless thriller doesn't really get out of hand.
