monstrosity.

Loud, noisy and annoying. And that spread out over two hours of film. Although there seemed to be four. Mno, you have to be deeply attached to 80s kitsch to get any pleasure out of this, unfortunately I don't have much with that either.

Howard is especially annoying, although that is not so exceptional in this film. The roles of Thompson, Robbins (the hell) and Jeffrey Jones are also quite unbearable. All very thick, present and not funny.

Visually it doesn't show anything either. Howard looks half-baked, the effects are very bad and Huyck doesn't know how to add anything in terms of direction. What remains is an annoying story about a duck who wants to return to his own world. Nothing but irritation this film, the only thing you can say is that those Marvel/DC things have improved compared to this one. Not much, but it couldn't get any worse than this.

0.5*

Nice film about a talking duck from another planet who ends up on Earth. Based on a Marvel comic book, this is a bunch of entertaining nonsense. The duck's sarcastic character is also nice and the 'suit' looks fine. Furthermore, a nice wrong 80s decoration and overall atmosphere. The exaggerated acting is sometimes a bit too much of a good thing.

Howard the Duck was a legendary box office flop, and I can see why - too bland and childish for adults, but also too much one-liner humor for kids. It's certainly not the worst movie ever, but it's still a big mistake. It's mostly not funny. Howard is a sarcastic duck and is constantly being smart, but is just not fun. And I wasn't very happy about Jeffrey Jones and Tim Robbins either. A nice 80s atmosphere again, and it's a different kind of Marvel film than the MCU, but this one won't be rewatched so quickly.
