Mort suspects that there is more going on between Sue and Philippe and begins to experience nightmares and his heart. For the latter he seeks help from general practitioner Jo Rojas, who lived around the corner from Mort in New York for a while and appears to like the same films. While Sue is busy at work during the day, Mort tries to trick his doctor into an appointment outside her practice.

Good film about a man who goes to a film festival with his wife because she has a job there. A simple plot, but with fine dialogues and here and there reasonable meta with small odes to mainly classics of European cinema. Enough beautiful pictures of sunny San Sebastian and Wallace Shawn acts as a stand-in for Woody Allen. A small 3.5 stars.

Allen continues to be productive with lately especially little captivating little ones,

like this movie. But they remain films that are pleasant to look at, especially in terms of dialogues

typical Allen movies. The dream sequences are beautiful, but is it otherwise quite noncommittal

with the usual worries in the relational sphere in which the character of the protagonist

Wallace Shawn even bears some resemblance to many of Allen's own roles. A

intellectual with (slightly) nervous traits.

Besides work by Bergman and Fellini, saw Allen also quote from the film El Angel

Exterminador by Bunuel, who, like Fellini and Bergman, is also discussed in dialogue

coming. A long time ago, Allen in Stardust Memories also referred to movies a lot

from Fellini.

The funniest role is for Sergi Lopez as the painter Paco especially in the scene

in which he is caught in his home / studio in bed with a model by his lover

which the also present Shawn has a crush on. Unfortunately, the film has mostly

a babbling character without, however, being bored. That will still be

always be Allen's class, with the fresh dialogues.
