Pak van Mijn Hart plot
The brothers Tom (Benja Bruijning) and Niek (Fedja van Huêt) run a clothing rental company and Sinterklaas Central. They've just started preparing for the holiday season when the attractive Julia (Chantal Janzen) walks into their family business with an offer that changes everything. Tom and Niek are confronted by this job with love, family issues, traditions, business and trust. As a result, there is a lot at stake for the brothers during the holiday season...

Colorless. The film is not even boring, but lacks any kind of inspiration or even any personality. Whether it's the dull camera work, the soundtrack, the typical plot, the actors, the locations. It's not necessarily bad, but mostly boring and completely uninteresting. Actors do their thing but nothing more and where one is better than the other. Bruijning still manages to irritate me, but Janzen and Van Huêt do a fine job - I think the latter is one of the best actors in the Netherlands anyway - and they just saved the film from complete oblivion. 1.5*.

Way better than Men's Hearts. That is the last Dutch romkom I saw - unfortunately both parts have to be seen.
The setting around our folkloric Sinterklaas is of course always nice and immediately reminds of "Everything is Love" (Goedheiligman, me hol). The bizarre way in which it is handled was fun in that movie, and still is in "Take of my heart" [/i].
The cameo from top chefs Kranenborg and Jaspers is super funny. You already feel what the film is about and that is how it ends - unfortunately it is over a bit quickly. There could have been many more SBS6 parodys in it.
Of the protagonists, only Chantal Janzen is okay. Both men don't appeal to me and I find Halina Reijn an insufferable extreme left-wing feminist moped squat macrobiotic cunt.... person who is always spouting her world-improvement talks at De Wereld Draait Door where that overpaid weak bag of a Matthijs van Nieuwkerk sits obediently nod at the hearing of so much naive left talk. Yes, as an actor/actress you sometimes just have to keep your face closed, because it can also reflect very negatively on your work.
Still, I liked her in this movie. Good makeup maybe. I could see a different person in it for a moment. That is not without merit. But now that the film is over it's Haline Reijn again and I CAN'T STAND that one. They put me in an elevator with Halina Reijn and Claudia de Breij and people die before the elevator doors are closed.

Not a super annoying movie to watch once; but at the same time, very little remains of it. Quite a standard romcom in which Chantal Janzen is given a pretty stale role. I liked Benja Bruijning's cast and it still brings some life to this otherwise rather uninspired intention, except for the dating, which was funny again. 2.5*
