In particular, the only plus in this film was Robert's head. I find it particularly creepy and almost more effective than the film version of the Annabelle doll.

Furthermore, the film unfortunately suffers from quite a few low budget problems. The camera work here and there resembles that of an SOV film. In addition, the acting performances are also not good. The fx and the kills are somewhat reminiscent of Child's Play. This is something the film has to contend with. Most events have been used before.

In addition, the piano-rich soundtrack also does not have the desired effect, because it does not increase tension / atmosphere anywhere. The limited setting does not improve in this case either.

As far as I'm concerned, a low budget UK horror that one can easily ignore.

I didn't go see the movie at first because of the negative reactions here, but I was still too curious. It is indeed not a big-budget film with hollywood stars, but I think it just comes across as more real. If you like a lot of action you better skip this one, but I thought it was good and atmospheric. And that's what I look for in such films. I wasn't bored. Certainly enough for me.

For the pop alone, this film certainly deserves a 2*. Robert is scarier than many other horror dolls. Unfortunately not much positive. Disastrous acting with one stiff, clumsy and awkward dialogue after another. Camera work clumsy, especially when Robert comes 'into action'. Furthermore, some incomprehensible choices. For example, why show Marcy's murder only as a fleeting flashback? That could have been a potentially scary scene. Scares don't really stand out either. The ending was still ok.
