"Some women would kill for a baby"
Sarah, a young mother-to-be, tries to rebuild her life after being recently widowed and partially deaf herself in a car accident. She is way past due and has just moved back to her parental home. In the evening she receives an unexpected visitor. Sarah is confronted by a calculating, cold and predatory woman who will do anything to take her child from her. Locked up and disoriented, she must do everything in her power to protect her baby and survive the night.

It's just a shame that you saw the original and that it was/is so brutal because that kind of ruins this film, because there's nothing wrong with this remake.
Solid acting and a good build-up of tension...I was really into it again, partly because I hadn't seen the original in a while.
In terms of gore, this one is much less than the original but certainly not bad like what was done with the remake of Martyrs (2008).
For someone who doesn't like French films and hasn't seen the original, this is a perfectly average film.
I'm curious what all the other horror freaks think about this.

It's a good thing I was sitting in the cinema with a nice person, because when I got home I turned off the film after 10 minutes.
