Disappointment.

In itself a difficult film to make a sequel from. The first was mainly the nanny who had to take care of a doll. The haunted doll and man in the wall elements provided a special mix and some surprises, but were not really the main attraction. The problem is that you can't really repeat that concept in a sequel.

So part two has become a much more boring and monotonous haunted doll film. One where the atmosphere does not really want to settle, which is not exciting at all for the first hour and which really sadly recycles from other, similar films. It's a shame, since the only hope for this film was Bell, the director who also directed part 1 and managed to make something of it, but he doesn't seem to belong here.

The finale is slightly more animated, but there are also many clichés and little new under the sun. And so you get a somewhat cynical second part, one that is clearly aimed at cashing in as easily as possible. The door to part 3 is also wide open, hopefully not with Bell anymore, because I think he is capable of more.

2.0*

I watched this second part, but it was less original than the first part. Fortunately the cast did well and otherwise it looked fine. A bit of a standard story without any big surprises. Nice to catch when they show it on TV, but nothing more.
