Well, I found this picture quite entertaining. Actually a well-known concept that still manages to be original in terms of story and development. Yes, we've all seen it somewhere (which film hasn't, by the way), but the effect is nice and bizarre. Because who could have imagined that? By the way, quite some question marks remain open, which I think is a bit of a shame. There should not be an answer to everything, but a few answers could have been provided here. The story ties in with the Christmas atmosphere around a family where the bow is tightly stretched. Solid acting in which the craziness gradually builds to its climax. And in what way! The film is wonderfully claustrophobically creepy and has some nice practical effects. This picture is exciting until the end, which for me could have been a little more elaborated. Bizarre, weird horror picture! 7.5/10

Very nice video.

Starts off a bit slow, but once the family is trapped, an uncomfortable atmosphere quickly descends on the film. A bunch of strange characters who don't really get along very well anyway in a house that is locked for some unknown reason, which can only lead to fireworks. I also liked a little absurd touch here and there.

After that, the tension is built up quite skilfully, but it is the ending that is particularly convincing. Fortunately, Kevorkian is someone who dares to pull out a few stops. People often refer to Cronenberg here, in the wiggling threads I saw more of a Tsukamoto/Tetsuo influence, but of course the two are already linked. Last 20 minutes are just really cool.

The film lacks a small layer of extra finishing to really score high, but I thought the film kept getting better and served a very cool ending. Also little unnecessary time was spent on giving lame explanations and nonsensical plot excuses, which could also be appreciated a bit more. The film doesn't last a second too long.

No, I'm curious about Kevorkian's next film.

3.5*

Revised. Remains an original and peculiar science fiction thriller, where the conceptual interpretation in particular provides the most interest. The acting among themselves is nice, but everyone relies quite heavily on caricature. Director Johnny Kevorkian also allows things to escalate a little too quickly on a psychological level, causing the panic phases to fly by quickly. It takes a while for Await Further Instructions to get going, but the rather crazy finale brings so much life into the brewery that a more than passing grade remains in place for me.
