“A person doesn't change just because you find out more.”

Fantastic classic. The Third Man looks brilliant first of all, and bombed-out Vienna is almost a character in its own right. The exciting final section in the underground tunnel system is a fine example of Carol Reed's craftsmanship, and the final scene between Cotten and Orson Welles is tragic and melancholic.

Everything that makes The Third Man so good comes together in this scene, and both actors are great. The scene in the Ferris wheel may also be there. As soon as Harry Lime comes out (is it a twist?) it seems like the movie gets an electric shock, and an already interesting movie only gets better. The last shot at the burial site is a picture.

Beautifully shot film in post-war Vienna, which I had difficulty following during the first hour due to the many fast conversations. The "Woody Allen music" doesn't appeal to me and I don't think it fits the film. The last quarter of the film is phenomenal in every way.

I also think that Wataru has written a wonderful comprehensive review that I think should remain at the top of the page. Find it here.

White-black classic of which, in addition to the film, "The Harry Lime-Theme" also became world famous.

Sometimes lacks some tempo but is masterful in terms of atmosphere and tension. The story, the destroyed Vienna and the smelly sewers offer, in addition to the many intense close-ups, some beautiful moments, such as the image of the vile criminal who desperately tries to get out of the sewer as venom.

Sublime acting.
