Very skinny. It already feels quite outdated for a movie from the late '80s, even though the original story (A Christmas Carol) is timeless. As a comedy, the film starts strong, nicely over the top with an armed robbery at Santa's warehouse, but then it turns out that unfortunately we are watching a movie within a movie. Scrooged is not able to reach the level of that film that is shown there. Too bad, if you want to make a comedy about A Christmas Carol then I think you have to go way over the top and deviate from the original, this movie doesn't do that anywhere. As a result, there remains an imo weak copy of the story of Dickens, with pretty lame humor. 1,5*

Bill Murray can be funny at times, but not in this bland version of A Christmas Carol. That little screaming boy is also unbearably bad. Didn't laugh once!

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is, of course, a brilliant story that has often been filmed. You can make a drama film for the kids (the muppet version) or a comedy film. This Scrooged clearly falls into the comedic version, but still missed the mark a bit..

Yes, there is very little to laugh about unfortunately. Even Murray (who I appreciate as a comedian) doesn't always know what to do, I think. But the script is just bad. Let that just be for a film like this that it has to be in order. Because then you get a completely different film (apart from the story of course). That second ghost, for example, is irritating and the third is certainly nothing. It shows a dead Frank Cross and the gentleman suddenly becomes a different person. That guy at the end with the gun is completely out of place.

No, not a movie I was hoping for. Still a 2.5 by Murray and because the atmosphere was in order.
