The Jericho Mile plot
"Behind the wall of this prison is a man traning to challenge the Olympic record.."
Larry Murphy (Peter Strauss) is an embittered, self-absorbed con man. In the desolate environment of the prison where he has to spend his time, he flees into running. He excels at it so much that he can participate in professional competitions. He therefore asks permission from the prison director to do so, but various intrigues deny him this opportunity. That's why Larry decides to break the world record after all, but then on the sports field of the prison.
