Nawara plot

Nawara (Menna Shalabi) does not have an easy life, but does not complain. She has been married to Aly (Ameer Salah Eldin) for five years, but the marriage is not yet complete as they cannot afford to move in together. She and her grandmother live in a poor neighborhood on the outskirts of Cairo. Nawara gets up early to fill jugs from the communal tap, then she goes to the hospital where her father-in-law, who has cancer, is lying on the floor in the hallway waiting for a bed to become available. Then Nawara takes some variants of public transport on her way to the walled community where she works as a maid for Usama and Shahinda. They are a prosperous couple who have made a rich life from their connections with the powerful Hosni Mubarak. Their life, with an immaculate lawn, a swimming pool and a quantity of fresh food eaten daily by their dog Butch, is in stark contrast to the life of Nawara. The difference is unbridgeable.
