Marupakkam plot

Ambi is a young man in his early thirties. He travels from Delhi to Kumbakonam to visit his ailing father Vembu Iyer. The latter is an orthodox religious scholar, renowned for his knowledge of Vedic studies. His father's condition is a shock to Ambi. There used to be a fight about Ambi's marriage to a Christian girl. Now he is barely able to recognize his son.
