The Polish-Jewish communist activist Pierre Goldman committed a number of high-profile robberies in the late 1960s, but was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1974 after being convicted of the murder of two pharmacists in 1969. His autobiography was published in 1975 and on the basis of which a court again considered 'Le Procès Goldman' in 1976. This film reconstructs this second trial, which was clearly a media sensation. Viewers who are not familiar with the history of Pierre Goldman, played here by Arieh Worthalter, will long wonder why emotions run so high in the audience, but the strong acting and the carefully organized chaos that occasionally arises ensure that that attention rarely flags.
