"Growing up in the Mission district of San Francisco, Che Rivera has always had to be tough to survive."

Che Rivera (Benjamin Bratt) grows up in the Mission district of San Francisco. He is a powerful man who is respected in the Mission for his masculinity and strength as well as for his hobby of building beautiful low-rider cars. A reformed ex-con and recovering alcoholic, Che has worked hard to set a good example for his pride, his only son, Jes, whom he raised alone after his wife's death. However, his conscience is put to the test when he finds out that Jes is gay. To survive in his neighbourhood, Che has always lived with his fists, but now he has to show a side of himself that no one knows.
