Hemingway & Gellhorn plot
"We were good in war. And when there was no war, we made our own."
Hemingway & Gellhorn tells the story of America's most famous literary couple ever. It starts in 1936 when the couple met in a Florida bar. Ernest Hemingway (Clive Owen) is a famous writer and Martha Gellhorn (Nicole Kidman) is one of the greatest war correspondents of the 20th century. In their 5-year marriage, they first travel to Spain to cover the Spanish Civil War between 1936 and 1939. Gellhorn was the only woman to ever ask Hemmingway for a divorce and she inspired him to write his most famous novel, For Whom the Bell Tolls.
