Duo Sang plot
A personal story by director Wu about the memories of his father, Dou-San. This man grew up during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, received a Japanese education and also saw how the occupying forces brought efficient social facilities to the island. However, Wu is taught Mandarin and learns about Japan's past imperialist ambitions and their war crimes, leaving a generation gap.
