"A new look at the old neighborhood."
Crooklyn tells the story of the Carmichael family, especially through the eyes of daughter Troy. She grew up in Brooklyn in the 1970s. Mother is the rock solid linchpin of the family and father is a stubborn jazz musician. And then there are four annoying brothers who bully the local residents and each other. Due to circumstances, Troy is placed with her aunt and uncle for a while. They have quite different parenting methods. Her own family, meanwhile, faces many problems, especially when mother falls ill.
