"They look just like us"
A deranged father (Emile Hirsch) locks his 7-year-old daughter Chloe (Lexy Kolker) in the house and warns her of the grave dangers outside. But the mysterious Mr. Snowcone (Bruce Dern) convinces the girl to escape. Behind her front door, the brave Chloe discovers a bizarre, threatening and mysterious new world. Together with mr. Snowcone, she embarks on an in-depth quest for family, freedom and revenge.

Very cool sci fi.
Top acting by Hirsch and especially by the young Kolker.
This movie gripped me from start to finish.
This way more sci-fis should be made.
And if you consider that this film was made on a budget that is meager by Hollywood standards, then this is a victory for the original filmmakers.
I agree with Jynxter this movie deserves a bigger audience

Quite surprising. At first I wondered what the hell I was watching, but it kept holding my attention. I was surprised more than once, it was nice not to always know what was going to happen. Chloe played well and Emile shows here (for me) what else he has to offer and you don't know what to do with his character. The ending is a pity and was not necessary for me, but nevertheless certainly positively surprised.

Was hoping for a hidden gem, but was a bit disappointed. The first part is mysterious, but in terms of pace it just doesn't go smoothly. When the plot about 'freaks' finally unfolds and the pace is picked up, it unfortunately ends in a one-dimensional event. Nice attempt to be original with strong acting by the young Lexy Kolker, but otherwise a film that you quickly forget.
