Bezhin Lug plot
Stepok, a boy in a farming village, is a member of a communist children's organization. His father Samokhin, a farmer, plans to sabotage the harvest for political reasons by burning down the pasture, but Stepok rounds up the other children to guard the crops. Frustrated by his son's success, Samokhin reports him to the authorities.
