Baamum Nafi plot
When Tokara wants to marry the beautiful Nafi, his niece, their fathers come into conflict. The youngest brother is a high-ranking cleric, the other candidate for mayor of the town in northeastern Senegal where the film is set. At first their fratricidal struggle seems to revolve around the happiness of their offspring, but gradually the children turn out to be just a plaything in their bitter quarrel about traditions, progress and true Islam. Can their family connection help them transcend their ideological differences?
