Robinson in Ruins plot

After London (1993) and Robinson in Space (1997), British director Patrick Keiller comes with his third film essay about the eccentric, mysterious character Robinson. His character never appears on the screen, but is constantly evoked, in the interaction between image and sound. Keiller filmed landscapes in the south of England, the year the banking bubble burst. Many locations therefore contain references to the rise of capitalism from the 16th century.
