Robinson in Space plot
The film is a sequel to Keillers London, in which university art teacher Robinson made an economic-geographical 'study' of the English capital. Now impoverished Robinson is assigned by 'a well-known international advertising agency' to investigate 'the problem of England'. The problem is not made explicit. Inspired in part by Daniel Defoe's Tour through the Whole Island of Great Britain, the project takes Robinson and his invisible, anonymous travel companion who also tells the story, to Eton and Cambridge, ports and rivers, factories and shopping malls.
