Punainen Rraketti plot
With the screen-filling call 'Comrades!' director Marja Pensala makes it clear early on in her film what she wants to talk about: the outdated conceptual apparatus of socialism and the outdated ideals associated with it. In eight chapters – from 'Virgin Birth' to 'The Seventh Day' – she shows how the oppressive state has been exchanged for meaningless freedom. Black and white archive material of flag parades and Russians kissing each other has been cut with contrasting current street scenes in colour.
