Himalayan Gold Rush plot
Every spring, in a remote part of Nepal, tens of thousands of men, women and children leave their villages for a perilous journey into the high Himalayas. Sometimes at the cost of their lives, they collect Yarsagumbu, a mysterious transmutation between plants and insects. This is used in Chinese medicine and is worth about USD 60,000 per kilo - more than gold! Suga Lal is a farmer. He lives in a valley in western Nepal with his wife Moti and their two sons Raj and Surendra. Working on their land barely affords them enough to survive, so their only option is to join the hunt for Yarsagumbu. But this hidden treasure is rare and hard to find. They will have to climb to an altitude of 5,500 meters to get a sufficient amount to last all year round.
