Fire under the Snow plot
In 1959, China invaded the small spiritual mountain state of Tibet and captured many monks. Among them Palden Gyatso, who was tortured and starved during his thirty-three years in captivity. Among other things, he was poured boiling water over his body, was hung naked by his feet and had to kneel in glass splinters. In 1992 he was released and fled to the city of Dharamsala in India, where he now lives. In Fire under the Snow he tells his life story from the first to the last minute, completed with archive footage and photos in black and white.
