De Zaak Vos plot
In Haiti, more than 80 children died after using a cough medicine containing glycerine contaminated with antifreeze. That glycerine was supplied to the Haitian company Pharval in 1995 by the Dutch company Vos, which had bought it in China. After Vos was initially cleared of responsibility as a broker, it later transpired that the company had had the glycerine tested and knew that it was impure. Director Leo de Boer lists the different sides of the story. From the parents in Haiti, who describe the name, age and disease course of the victims, via the director of Pharval - who has been forced to flee the country - and the American investigators called in to help, to the former and current directors of Vos, who not be able to say anything because an IOU would bankrupt the company.
