Thunder in the Night plot

Police captain Karl Torok's best friend Count Peter Alvinczy has just been elected president of the Hungarian cabinet. When Alvinczy's future is threatened by a blackmailer, Torok tries to get to the bottom of the matter. When the blackmailer is killed, suspicion shifts from one person to another. The most likely suspect is Alvinczy's lovely wife Madaline, but Torok rejects this, stating that appearances can be deceiving.
