Luc Besson, apparently I like his work, discovered/watched some films quite late, but great ones also remain great 30 years after date. And wow this was another amazing film, with a delightful young Natalie Portman, she plays that role extraterrestrially well and then Jean Reno as Leo, also top character, damn this was a top duo to me. And don't forget Stansfield (Gary Oldman), wonderfully corrupt cop, with his pills (krak). The film immediately sinks into it and immediately has a nice atmosphere. You would think, drugs, corrupt cops and an anti-hero, bluuh nothing special, that is not included in this film. The story is wonderfully put together, as soon as Mathilda moves in with Léon, there is something that is so fascinating for the viewer, the dry humor, the rawness, the friendship/love that arises, Mathilda's feelings of revenge and grief for her brother. Fantastic chemistry between these toppers. Yup, this makes me intensely happy, of such a masterpiece.

Everything has already been said about "The professional". Better known as Leon.

Brilliant film, good story, beautiful dialogues and good cinematography that regularly gives you the feeling that you are really there.

Add to that the fantastic acting performances and this one is in my top 5. Jean Reno perfectly cast as the slightly goofy but professional professional killer, Gary Oldman as the drug-addicted, corrupt maniacal cop, and the very young, revenge-driven Natalie Portman that melts your heart.

The scene where she stands in front of Leon's door in tears is one of the best movie moments ever.

Time to bring Léon out again. Everything is very well developed in this film. The story of a hitman who only lives for his job, until it gets personal. You can feel the tragedy of the characters from the first second. The balance of the characters is also good with the main trio Léon, Mathilda and Stansfield as the driving force. Also each of them cast in one of their best roles.

The story is simple and intimate so that the characters take center stage. Enhanced by the music of Eric Serra, which makes the melancholy sound throughout the film. There are only losers here, there is no turning back.

Léon is a film that has stood the test of time well. Truly a timeless film that still works well.
