The Shaggy Dog plot
"It's going to be a ruff day."
Lawyer Dave Douglas (Tim Allen) hardly has time for his wife and children as he is busy with a case surrounding a mysterious animal laboratory. When his daughter takes home a 300-year-old dog from Tibet in protest against the experiments in the lab, her father is bitten by this dog. This bite causes Dave's body to turn into a dog out of nowhere. This literally gives Dave a different view of himself, but also of his family. He discovers that he wants to be a better father, but first he has to get Dr. Unmasking Cossack.

Formula junk. Who ever thought that starring a dog was fun? Now all very painful examples come to mind such as Beethoven and Air Bud and in terms of poor qualities The Shaggy Dog is not inferior to them. In any case, Tim Allen is also the most obvious and annoying choice for this role. I can remember that towards the end of the evening I let go of a small sympathetic chuckle with the necessary alcoholic drinks, so that works to his advantage in my assessment. A busy lawyer kind of hates dogs around him (besides not devoting time and attention to his wife and children, but that aside) and then slowly becomes a dog in behavior: sniffing everything, licking people, panting with tongue out, growling and you name it, quite a funny fact 
I also thought the CG and action scenes were ok.
For me it was often a bit bland in terms of humor, only sometimes a bit sharper.
A nice range of one-liners: "I'm not a bad dog, I'm just a terrible human. Got to make this better."
