Duma plot
"Some friendships are wilder than others"
In South Africa, Xan and his father Peter encounter a young cheetah. They take the cub home and name him Duma. Soon Duma becomes a member of the family. When the animal is almost fully grown, Xan and Peter make plans to return it to its natural habitat. But before they get around to it, Peter suddenly becomes ill and Xan moves to Johannesburg with his mother. Here the cheetah manages to escape and throw things upside down at Xan's school. To keep Duma free, Xan decides to flee with the animal. He still wants to return Duma to his natural environment and that turns out to be quite an adventure.

Very nice.
I also watched Two Brothers a while ago, and both are very fun movies. Fortunately, the occasionally somewhat unserious humorous tone of Two Brothers has been omitted here, and it still manages to remain serious. I may like cheetahs a bit less than tigers, but this was a very enjoyable animal too.
Another plus point of this one compared to Two Brothers is that it stays true to nature and doesn't focus too much on the city and people; I also prefer that kind of nature vibe in these types of videos.
The cast does a good job and the direction is equally good. Naturally, the 5 cheetahs playing Duma also get two big thumbs up.
I just found the ending a bit disappointing. You know it's coming and the choice is understandable, but after I had grown so into the film (and with it the bond between the boy and Duma), and given that Duma didn't really feel the lack of wildlife, I found it quite a letdown.
But still, very enjoyable. It's also kind of a childhood dream of mine, something like that.

A nice film about a father and son who find a motherless cheetah cub by the side of the road. Although it is presented in a rather adventurous way, it does become a bit long-drawn-out after a while. Beautiful shots of the flora and fauna of South Africa, where the cheetah is a magnificent beast to behold, and a relief that it is not CGI.
