"Eddie Murphy is the chosen one."
Chandler Jarrell (Eddie Murphy) is a private detective with a special gift for finding missing children and teenagers. He is approached by the beautiful young woman Kee Nang (Charlotte Lewis) about the kidnapping of 'The Golden Child' (JL Reate). According to her, Chandler is "The Chosen One" and his job is to find and protect the child. He doesn't believe this, but the case comes back on its own path and he decides to help Kee Nang anyway.

Nice comedy adventure film to watch again.
At the time I thought it was a little less genre to see Eddie Murphy play in, but now that I saw him again he fits in very well.
Not a high-quality film and the effects of that time are a bit dated, but as a whole still entertaining and fascinating to watch again.

Film that tried to piggyback on the success of the great adventure films of the 80s but barely succeeds. It's certainly not Murphy's fault and the nervous naughty character from Beverly Hills Cop and Trading Places is back. This causes some giggles, but the humor didn't go any further than this. The very predictable story and ditto obligatory romantic song with mediocre special effects also made for a mediocre spectacle in my opinion.

Mediocre film about a man who tracks down missing children and gets a special assignment. The mix between action, adventure and comedy doesn't quite work here. Also, the story is on the messy side. A few funny moments mainly due to Eddie Murphy (although he doesn't really fit in the movie as a whole).
