It's strange that this is placed under the heading of comedy.

In my opinion, too slow and too thin a story to fill 1.5 hours with, it felt like 3 hours.

Many scenes that did not add much to the story or atmosphere. Personal "small" stories that are depicted at a slow pace are usually good for me, but here too little happens in my opinion.

The film is reminiscent of the work of the popular author Murakami or the film Past Lives: the theme of love is treated as vaguely (mystical) as it is concretely (physical), leaving its meaning somewhat open to speculation. In any case, it's about finding vs. losing, or connecting vs. letting go. Where the West speaks of a "click" that can only be experienced, in the film there is always a concrete, physical event or object through which the connection (soul unity) is established or expressed. The tragic fate of such love is easily predictable, as a connection is made with a girl who continually loses everything—her phone, her camera, and especially her red cap that symbolizes their love. It leads to an endless search for the cap, even when she is dead because the connection transcends every physical boundary and therefore also that between life and death, while the cap turns out to be in the hands of the cleaning lady who connects past and present and thus preserves their love (at least as long as she is in Japan). Or something like that: the film makes you think about the meaning of the story while the film itself is quite boring with in the first part the contrast and tension between – to speak in the language of the film – the negative energy of Sano and the positive energy of Miyata and in the second part the meeting and blossoming love between Sano and Nagi without delivering much dramatic tension anywhere.

For a conference on how to live "Super Happy Forever," Sano [Hiroki Sano] returns with his best friend Miyata [Yoshinori Miyata] to the city where he met his recently deceased wife Nagi [Nairu Yamamoto] five years earlier. Everyday objects like a red cap and a humming melody remind Sato of Nagi. In a long flashback (filmed from Nagi's perspective), we discover why those little things mean so much in the reconstruction of that first meeting, filmed entirely from Nagi's perspective. The natural acting and location filming make this delicate, simple love story deeply compelling and moving.
