"4 marriages, 2 long-faces"
Claude and Marie Verneuil come from Catholic parents from the large provincial bourgeoisie and are quite conservative. But they have always been open-minded. It was hard to swallow when their first daughter married a Muslim, their second a Jew and the third a Chinese. Their hopes that their last daughter will marry in front of the church is sparked when they learn that she has met a good Catholic boy.
