Pushing Dead plot

A writer, who has been living with HIV for twenty years, finds herself in a very dire situation. After accidentally depositing a $100 birthday check, he is kicked out of his health insurance policy for allegedly possessing too much money. Will he be able to fight the bureaucracy and win? Or does he actually have to cough up three thousand dollars a month to get his medication?
