Midsummer Madness plot
Janu Nakts (St. John's Night) is a traditional Latvian celebration in which family and friends are invited to have a celebration. According to the legend of St. John's Night, lovers and those who want to fall in love would find or meet each other. Central are six stories about people who, during this night, go in search of the question whether a search for love can ever be successful? A young American, Curt, suddenly turns out to have a half sister and goes looking for her. Two firefighters have a common love for Liverpool football club. A group of friends are tired of the constant rise in oil prices. Together they decide to do something about this by tapping a pipeline. An almost impossible love between an Asian cook and a flight attendant. An antiques dealer desperately tries to keep his head above water until he can suddenly strike a shady deal with a Russian. The last story is about a poet who becomes a widow. She is quite fickle; maybe that's why she's in Latvia to bury her husband in Lithuania?
