Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb plot

"The hot-line suspense comedy."

At the height of the Cold War, American General Jack Ripper loses his mind and sends a large number of planes to the Soviet Union to flatten the country with nuclear weapons. The US president (Peter Sellers) arranges a meeting with his advisers, where he learns from the Soviet ambassador that when the weapons are fired, an automatic device will be activated that destroys all life on Earth. It is therefore necessary to recall the aircraft, which becomes difficult as nobody knows the correct communication codes.

For me personally certainly not a favorite Kubrick film, the film has withstood the test of time in my humble opinion a lot less well than, for example, 2001 or Lolita. The film also starts slowly and has a number of successful comic jokes, but at the same time it is very sparse and the character that the film (in the title at least) revolves around is also only briefly seen in the film. A nice double role by Sellers, but certainly not his best work.

I'm not sure why and I'm also very sorry, but this comedic attempt by Kubrick is my least so far.

Very mediocre film that apparently attracts a certain kind of audience that sees the humor in this. I didn't see it and found it extremely annoying. For example, this is called comical. Well we laughed say phew Only the coca cola machine was just as much fun. For me the worst movie of these Columbia Classics. The image was also not worthy of 4K. I will never watch this movie again. Luckily it only lasted 1.5 hours.
