Surreal film that becomes stranger by the minute because all the characters say and do the exact opposite of what you would expect.

I don't know exactly what the intention of the film is, but I think it is good because it is something completely different from the conventional.

Great role from Depardieu.

Bertrand Blier serves a cold and extremely absurd buffet.

It requires a firm turn of the dial to get into the humor on offer and this is occasionally successful due to the unexpected and contradictory situations and dialogues, but for the entire length of the film the recipe is already too complex.

Actually, a young Depardieu, Bernard Blier (especially) and Jean Carmet are perfect for such roles.

Strange, but occasionally I was reminded of certain films by Fassbinder, films in which the same, often funny, cool unpredictability is the most special feature.

What a bizarre movie haha. It has some nice ideas as a satire on cold modernity, but as a whole this was a bit too much of a good thing.

Production-wise, it's in good order, with beautiful shots, great locations and an excellent cast. Carole Bouquet immediately reminded me of James Bond.
